                  Rebels sweep doubleheader in Rome

Today the New York Mills Rebels won both ends of their doubleheader at Larry Delutis Field in Rome. In game 1, Rebel newcomer Josh White dominated the Oriskany Blazers on the mound leading them to a 3-0 victory. White went the distance giving up only 2 hits while striking out 9. Former Clinton Shocker, Chris LaRose, led the way at the plate going 2 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI's.

In game 2, there was plenty of offense to talk about. The Rebels pounded out 14 hits and 11 runs against the Morrisville Hubs. Josh White led the way as he went 3 for 4, with a triple, 3 runs scored, and 1 RBI. He also helped to close things out on the mound, picking up the Rebels' first save of the season. Matt DeCicco started the ball game, going 5 strong innings for the Rebels and matching his win total for all of last season.

By winning both games today, the Rebels also matched their franchise high for wins in a season at 2. The Rebels are now 2-1 and await the Rome Bombers next Sunday at a site yet to be determined.
