The Mohawk Valley League's Bombers from Central New York State edged the Rhode Island Ripptide to win the 2006 July 4th "Down East" wood bat tournament. A complete review of the Bomber's tournament is listed below in all the game reports.

GAME SUMMERY:
2nd inning Bombers Jed Musch hit a lead off HR and was followed by Rod Nellenbach with a double who was later hit in with a two out single by Dan Barrett.
3rd inning with bases loaded Jed Musch hit a SAC Fly to center to score 1 and was followed by Rod Nellenbach clearing the bases with another of his (3) doubles.
Rod Nellenbach went 4 for 5 with (3)
doubles 3RBI’s

Craig Nickerson for gutting it out and keeping the game in control.

Bombers: 57 runs for , 40 runs allowed, 71 total hit, 19 errors
Bombers Tournament Offensive MVP:
Several guys contributed huge but Rod Nellenbach only hit in three games because he was hit in the forearm in game #2…knocked him down but not out. He returned with a vengeance! Overall he went 8 for 13 w/ 5 RBI’s 5 Doubles and only 1-K…. .889 on base percentage
Bombers Overall Tournament MVP:
Mike Webb was there for what ever we needed him to do… He batted .375 overall and was the winning pitcher in our first win, played 3rd base in the second game and Playoffs… caught our third game and the Championships as well as being the closer in the 9th inning of the championship game!
